Heather Wingert, LCSW, LCAS
Heather Wingert, LCSW is a psychotherapist committed to the empowerment of women and girls in and surrounding the Asheville area. Her interests as a psychotherapist have evolved around feminist theory and psychodynamic psychotherapy, the construction of femininity and gender, and the connection between emotional literacy and eating and body image concerns.
She is Assistant Director for T.H.E. Center for Disordered Eating in Asheville and member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association.
She holds a Psychology degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She is licensed by the state of North Carolina to practice psychotherapy, and is qualified to work with a wide range of emotional disorders.
On a personal note, she resides with her husband and two dogs in North Asheville. She enjoys creating cold process soaps, photography, gardening, traveling and spending time with loved ones.
